We all know about Morrissey and Bowie doing a duet to private dancer and the sad tour of 95 with Bowie which ended in Morrissey leaving the tour but i wondered if like me there were people who were diehard Bowie fans who realised he no longermeant anything to them and that Morrissey did. Im sure im not alone but being a Morrissey fan
i suppose i have to be

Cosmic Dancer?

I once had a friend who was asked the question "Beatles or Stones?" She was outraged to the point of concern for other guests at the gathering that it was even a possibility that the two could be compared. She turned out to be sort of mental though.

Was Tina Turner there?:D

Of course it was Cosmic dancer it was a joke geddit Blimey do i have to ring a bell but of course its only a matter of time before we see Moz and Tina on stage together doing a rendition of Nutbush city limits

Bowie can still hold a place in your heart. It doesn't have to be one or the other. :)

So true. I can and do have both. :)

That seems to be a popular question, huh?! ;):D. Funny I just posted "Beatles or Stones" on that "Ask a Question" thread. :p

So, what is your answer, CG? Mine is always the Fab Four.

Bowie is my faveourite artist after Morrissey/Smiths and Joy Division, but only the Alladin Sane and Ziggy Stardust albums (possibly young americans too) contribute to that. The rest of his material is totally unlistenable. I think Morrissey also expressed this view more articulately.
P.S Rolling Stones any day. Shouldnt take them remotely seriously , but still they R:guitar:CK

I think there are a lot of Stones songs that should be taken seriously. They are an excellent band. I just prefer the Beatles sound. It's tonally complicated or something.

the Stones and Beatles are so different in the fact that the Beatles came and went in a flash. they did everything they "needed" to do in such a short period of time. they made their mark and there will never be another band like them. the Stones have some fantastic songs too though. They are amazing in their own right. but they never broke up, they dragged things out. they outstayed their welcome, pretty much. most Stones pre mid 70s is pretty damn good, but in all honesty, that's when they shouldve quit.

that being said, the Beatles win everytime. against any band. for ever. and ever. amen.

Would you be able to recommend any of these songs, please? :) I'd like to give the Stones a chance

The Stones ROCK! :guitar:

Not even Morrissey made me leave Bowie. No way. Still, I don't like modern Bowie.

Also, I kinda like The Cure, you hear?! They're fun and unique!
