Morrissey gets played in the fancy stores. A lot. A few months ago, I was in the dressing room at Bottega Veneta trying on some pieces from spring/summer '22 and "You Have Killed Me" came on. I was pretty happy about that. Then my sales person bought me some chocolates after ringing me up. Because thats what you get for spending $5k on two pieces of clothing: some shitty chocolate and a Morrissey song.
Bottega Veneta: You have killed me with this pricing.

But this isn't really making a point about anything. They come back for more, and I do too, because we want more. Which means the show should be longer, with even only a few more songs.
Trust me, if shows were longer, people would complain about them being too long, etc.

The shows are short, people know what they are paying for, and they come back. These are just the facts.

The shortness of his shows will actually make me hesitate on buying a ticket again in the future, as I imagine it will for many others in the audience as well. Nobody likes the feeling of getting ripped off. The audience in NYC was annoyed the show ended so soon. I bet many won't be back "for more."

Believe what you want, but it doesn’t seem to be the case, since his shows have never been that long, and I believe Kings theater was sold out. After all the cancellations and knowing the sets are short, people still showed up and supported him, don’t think it’ll be much different next time.

Another place where Morrissey gets played a lot if The Resl Real. I mean, I don't think I've ever been in a Real Real without hearing at least one Smiths or Morrissey song. I love shopping at The Real Real.

Morrissey is 63. He plays a 75 minute set. Thats plenty long. Thats viagra long. Leave him alone. He's doing great, baby!

Didn’t mean that. But call it what you want.

And yet, time and time again, fans come back for that experience of exhilarating disappointment. Lol.

So he’s doing something right.

You are misdiagnosing what is happening here. Fans aren't intentionally going to a Morrissey show to be disappointed. We WANT a longer show. We HOPE to hear the songs we want. We want to have a good time. It would be bizarre to go to a concert and want something short and disappointing.

I'm not sure he decided to be a pariah as such,
But why would you think he would? I don’t think he would choose the present circumstances that he find himself in.
but he certainly chose to say the many things he has done over the last 5 years or so that led to a mass alienation of existing and potential fans. Whether he knew it would alienate people is another matter, but unfortunately for Morrissey, that is what happened.
Well that comes back to do the rest matter? As we both agree from a business standpoint, of course. But will Morrissey be remembered
for his popularity with the general public, the masses? Or will he be remembered as an unique and complex artist, with a career of highs and lows, and a very devoted following?

Robert Smith is one month older than Morrissey, and he plays for 2 and three quarter hours, both singing and playing guitar.

look, dude, robert smith can give you an extra hour because he's CLEARLY not paying too much attention to personal hygiene, or adhering to basic male grooming standards. if thats not clear to you, then may i suggest a visit to warbyparker.com.

But if the show is too long for someone, that person can simply leave. Nobody can do anything about a show being short. This is not a proper comparison.

Again, you keep saying people are going out to intentionally get a short show because they're familiar with Morrissey's set length. I doubt this is the case for almost the entire audience and it's frankly a bizarre interpretation of what's going on. We are going to see Morrissey because we are fans of his music.

I did not know I was paying for a short show. I went because I'm a fan. I had no memory of the shows I saw years earlier, I did not time them with a stopwatch, and even if so, I could have sworn they were longer.

Nobody is thinking to themselves "I am buying tickets to Morrissey because he does short shows and I hate that but I am brainwashed so I will go anyway." They are just going because they hope for a great night.

Good lord, how f***ing pathetic. Sleeper self released their album The Modern Age along with a couple of singles and got plenty of airplay. He needs to get his head out of his arse, embrace the new way of doing things, surround himself with professionals and stop with this woe is me shit.
Why are you getting bent out of shape at such an innocuous, jokey central post? Calm your tits.

But their songs are so long, probably why their sets are longer. Slower songs too, not too much singing, more or less, should be taken into account.

He maybe offends some people with his humour, that's all I can think of.

It's not even that. His whole persona is one of being a wanker. Moaning about the "establishment" at the Oscars while making millions out of the same institutions and people he criticises. Plus, I think his comedy (especially the UK version of the Office) just isn't that good. That After Life on Netflix was just the same thing, over and over.
