'DavidT banned from concerts for life' - main page article.

Re: the official signing out, thanks davidt , f*** morrissey, its over thread

The former users have nothing to do with this.
Hopefully they are happy where they are now.

Morrissey has a tendency to make bad decisions, banning David from his live shows is the worst so far.

With respect you would say that...you are a Mod are you not? Of course the former have something to do with my point, it's about NOT JUST moz getting upset about things on this site and if anyone should feel upset it should be Morrissey. I know that this site has become a second home to some BUT its amusing how this site seems to be more important to some people than Moz himself. Its true most of us can roll with the punches and so can Moz himself but the past two years have seen this site go turn to shite in many ways...this as we know is not just me saying this, its the general feeling among many a fan.
I think free speech is all well and good but people must be responsible. I think Mozs worst decision is staying with and the boys BUT that me....

Do you like to live in North Korea / Iran / China where people do not have freedom of speech?

"Morrissey's tour spokesperson went on to add that any confirmed members of Mr. Tseng's vile site are also being considered for lifetime concert bans. Stings are currently being planned at pre-show drinks meetup locations."

Please find the source on that if it is indeed genuine and not made up. I would love to see that.

One other thing, throughout the years Morrissey has fought against people that profit indirectly from his success (the Hollywood Bowl DVD just to name one). Maybe Morrissey lumps Davidt in this group...? $$ changes everything. Just a thought.

That's an interesting point actually, quite possible.

Not really.

David posted in this thread that he was asked to remove the links just twice.

Morrissey doesn't like the result of Hollywood Bowl live which made him to prevent the release.

I'm all for free speech and everything, but does this include insults and name calling? It was YOUR (the mods) job to prevent this site from becoming a haters site. And you failed!

Someone had posted an alleged cut and paste of a conversation that "Hugh 23rd" had, possibly on facebook, in regards to insuring that David did not receive entry into the show. I do not know if that was genuine or not.

I do not moderate the mainpage because I'm only asked to look after the forums.
This site does not belong to me, I'm only allowed to remove spam / porn / personal info of users.

When I spot some problematic stuff I have to report other mods first, when all the mods agree to take action the post / thread will be removed.

David does not like censorship.

Re:

Let people say what ever they will, just don't let them do it anonymously. I don't understand how this is seen as interfering with freedom of speech surely the opposites the case.

I didn't mean you specifically, but all the mods/admins. If you had kept this forum troll free, it probably wouldn't have gone this far. This site has become a real pain, with every single thread being hijacked by the haters!

Re:

Oh dear! Just logged on to hear this news.
What next? Not everyone on here is a troll.
I have encountered many wonderful fans here over the years.
Much kindness, support and information.
I feel sad that this is happening......

What are you talking about?

MESSAGE FROM MORRISSEY.

The slapdash release of Morrissey live at the Hollywood Bowl is done by Warner without any consultation to me whatsoever, and is in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex-manager. Being Warner, predictably the sleeve art is appalling. It is the work of cash-hounds, and I urge people NOT to buy it. I am not signed to Warner, and no royalties from this dvd will come to me. Please spend your money elsewhere.thank you, MORRISSEY.

I think it's an excellent decision. While Solo may once have been primarily a fan community and source of information, it has NEVER, as some are absurdly claiming, been responsible for keeping Morrissey's career afloat. But now this website has degenerated into a profoundly unpleasant parody of what it once was and David's laissez-faire attitude is 100% to blame (though sycophantic comments like yours are part of the problem too).

I thought I lived in London BUT never mind.

Tell you what Kewpie ..next time you are in Camden let me know and we will how long you will last making such silly statements.
Actually its a pity I am not going to the gigs I would suggest a little experiment. All you mods and people who claim to be so proud of this site and act so very, very tough.
Wear a badge with your names on and tell everyone on here where you will be, it would be amusing just to see what happens ( I am guessing, at least one person gets kicked around London). Free speech is often never free little man... Also, North Korea,Iran,China comment is very base and illustrates the fall this site has taken.

We must read different things. I often see NAMED forum members criticizing Morrissey just as sternly as the sycophants praise him uncritically. Lots of posters have pseudonyms and say things Morrissey apparently finds objectionable. And if he doesn;t approve of himself being called naughty names, perhaps he should self-edit and set a better example, no?

Maybe if the big M wasn't making so many mis-steps in his career, there wouldn't be a problem. Or, well, you know, he and his spies didn't come here to "investigate" all the nefarious daring-dos of the posters. No one is forcing them to come here. The site has apparently benefited Morrissey in the past...perhaps if Morrissey accepted the fact that site is ABOUT him, not FOR him, he wouldn't be in such a state of paranoia about it.

Wow, now there is something that can be construed as a threat...

Anyway:
Camden in the UK is definitely not as tough as Camden, NJ in the US. I have gotten lost through Camden in NJ. No other Camden compares especially after sundown in the summer heat.

I myself see a lot of blind allegiance on this site directed towards a pop star that in all likelihood would not be able to remember your name within a week. People are fallible, including a 50yr+ singer. It is a shame people do not realize that.

Named or unnamed, what difference does it make? In recent times, the named users have become just as rude as those who hide behind their anonymous state on the front page. This site needs some real mods who are able to walk the fine line between censorship and keeping this a worthwhile place!

If you had such a huge website with seemingly 90 % of its users utterly hating you, could you simply ignore it?
