The official Democratic National Convention thread

Why does Joe Biden say there's a "liberty clause"? What a strange thing for a so-called constitutional law expert to say.

----

Did Joe Biden really "kick ass", or is the news actually that Palin is not what the MSM attempted to present her (smear her) as?

I didn't see anyone's ass kicked last night. But I did see Sarah Palin being a lot better than the mainstream media told me she was.

So I guess it's time they stop lying about her and trying to character assassinate her.

And maybe they should begin vetting Barack Obama.

you always claim solo members worship and blindly follow certain people (Morrissey, Obama).

I don't mind if you support McCain...but the fact you come here and say Palin is a strong candidate I simply can not stomach. I know you are more intelligent than that. So who is the one blindly following their party?

character assassination? people just need to view her interviews and form their own conclusions. People just need to notice all the times she had to rely on note cards during the debates. Or her constant avoidance of questions, and fluffy answers appropriate for a beauty pageant and not a vice presidential debate.

I don't believe you like Palin and I think you defend her because she's the Republican candidate. This makes you hypocrite of course.

Because your argument is illogical when the Democratic VP candidate is more qualified to run the country than the Democratic Presidential candidate. That in itself is scary. Call me what you want but you lose any and all argument in attacking someone who may be President of the United States IF the elected President dies for their inexperience when the Democrats are running for the top seat with someone who he himself is inexperienced.

The Dems are worried about the second in command when their own hopeful first in command has the same shortcomings...

Oh I forgot... he speaks nicely...

But people accepted his inexperience and decided he evens out his qualifications due to his intelligence, demeanor, personality, and basic philosophy and beliefs. I firmly agree with his tax policy (as do many others obviously) and think his foreign policy is a necessary change at this time.

What does Sarah Palin offer in place of her inexperience? And quite frankly I love his experience as a community organizer. It's the kind of roots I like for. I love his educational background, professional background and I like his beliefs. So far his political record to me looks above average. Which is hard for me to say for any politician--even most democrats.

You seem angry? It's unlike you.

anyone just see the "worst persons in the world" segment on Countdown just now? the "worst" guy was some writer, wrote this thing about how Sarah Palin has "it" and when she winked he felt like she was winking at him. and then went on to talk about starbursts flying through the tv and bouncing off the walls of his livingroom. the way Olbermann was reading it was like he was reading porn. it was hilarious. then Keith was like "I dont care if you masturbated during the debate, but you didn't have to tell us about it!" lolololz

guess you just had to be there.

Every major NY paper conceded that Palin did pretty well and caught Biden on a number of things. The only guy in my school that disagreed was someone who does not understand why you do not need a passport to go to Puerto Rico and other things like that so take that for what you will.

yeah but when standards for Palin are so low...that's the point. Everyone agrees she did better than expected...but people expected her to be a total dumbass.

That makes her a winner?

LOL - I never said she won. However whatever her cue cards told her to do she did well. The things she caught Biden on were key points. Perhaps in every case it was not a key point to the election but it was a key point to exposing the inner disagreement on certain issues between Biden and Obama.

I personally liked how she held her baby at the end for *2.5 minutes* as the cue card said.

My comeback to that is:
Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre, Joe Torre,

Chris Matthews nailed it when he said she talked like she was in a SPELLING BEE.

Another coworker asked me how I could be for McCain two days ago. They stated that the only thing keeping her back was because of his age. I brought up my Washington should have been dead by the time he was elected and it changed her mind. Bonus was the person by Bedford Avenue that eavesdropped and said... "I never thought of it like that."

well if age is the only reason shes not voting for him, she's stupid and probably easily swayed anyway.

I thought of you the other day when I was watching the Colbert Report. he was saying how 60% of new voters were for Obama and 30% were for McCain. and then he was like "but half of those 30% are hipsters voting for McCain, IRONICALLY." then showed a picture of a skinny dude in a tshirt that said "VOTE" McCain. hahaha. oh and then i pictured you punching him in the face. cuz i know how much you love hipsters.

I hate all hipsters...

I am trying to get the principal to allow the kids on the school newspaper to stop people on Bedford Avenue and ask the following during afternoon hours.

  1. What time did you wake up this morning?
  2. Where are you going?
  3. What do you do for a living?
It is under consideration.

"where are you going?" what answers are you expecting to that?

when you ask them what they do for a living they'll all say "artist."

Just for shits and giggles I went into a tattoo parlor... My friend asked if she could see examples of their work. They replied that right now they are taking a break from tattoos and considered themselves more of a "gallery" to showcase the work of others.

Rly?
