I found (rediscovered) some Specials 7" from when I was small. They sound amazingly good despite being in a cardboard box for decades: Ghost Town, Stereotype. Proper songcraft with Terry Hall's charismatic voice at the heart of the songs.
I find Terry's voice captivating, and lent an air of melancholy when you consider the unimaginably horrific ordeal he suffered in France as a 12 year old child on a school tour, passed around by a paedophile ring. May they all rot in hell. Crimes against kids deserve the death penalty.
One of my fav Pixies songs. Probably my fav after Gouge Away. They played 33 songs at the concert in Galway in July, and of course one of them was Velouria. Anthemic!
