Is Born to Harangue as serious as they say?

^ Why have most of these videos been made unavailable, 7 out of 11 of them are gone from YouTube :rage:
Anyway, an update on ‘vibe & rant queen’ Alex Peirce: she’s going to be 40 in May and she’s currently 30 weeks pregnant :baby::clapping:!
Here’s a couple of recent pictures of her from her Instagram page, standing in front of a door whilst enjoying a beverage:

You have the weirdest taste, honey bunny!

You have the weirdest taste, honey bunny!

Unlike Noa Tishby, Alex is funny! In fact, she’s hilarious! Why do you refuse to acknowledge this!?

I just found out Alex was on Judge Judy 20 years ago (season 9 episode 67). I wonder if I ever saw that episode because I used to watch Judge Judy ALL THE TIME! Another thing I found out just now is that Judge Judy has a new courtroom show (Judy Justice). It’s already up to 249 episodes and no one told me it existed. I’m watching it now on YouTube; the bailiff Petri Hawkins-Byrd is gone and there’s a new bailiff. There’s also a woman who sits to Judy’s right and looks up any information she requests. That used to be Byrd’s job; this is going to take some getting used to!!

She is funny but I hate her claws and botox face. The fact that she has adopted this entire instagram look wholesale (when it doesn't even look good) just shows that she's a lot more of a follower and anxious about how she's perceived by nobodies than she'd probably like to admit.

And I'm sorry but I refuse to watch judge Judy for 5 minutes, let alone scour through all the episodes to find your youtube crush!

This is definitely a thread.

My posts in this thread have generally been informative if I may say so, or at least somewhat interesting in a niche or kitsch sense, but I’ve never been able to curate the thread to my liking because any time I’ve tried posting anything I’ve had people coming in attacking me for reasons unrelated to the content of the thread— about seven such people in the past 10 months (let me name and shame them: Rifke, Baz, TheSmiths_1985, Gregor, JM, Redacted, Johnnie Ray). It had potential to be a magnificent thread - an all-timer - had I been permitted to post 1980s Ariana Grande remixes in peace. I’m not allowed to have nice things!

My role here was simply to mitigate the awkwardness when no one responded!! I was looking out for you, honey bunny, cause let me tell you, there were times when the cringe factor was HUGE. I'm not asking you to thank me but you should really thank me!!

Here’s the list of my favourite singles from 2024 that I listened to for the first time in February. A few of them were released in January. I listened to 132 singles, the list is one song per artist. I had 11 songs vying for the 40th place so I put their names into a hat. Still Corners won the first time, then I did it a second time and had the same result. So that’s how they earned their wildcard spot on the list. I was leaning more towards Kacey Musgraves myself but the hat doesn’t lie. Also below is the Born to Harangue chart rundown (39-1)! I’m not going to admit to how long it took me to record it, but it took long enough that I’m never going to do it again. It features a special appearance at the end from a certain blond lothario, because there’s no point taking the time to do something like this unless I’m going to do something trollish with it.

No one seems to read these posts anyway, I can’t even get a measly ‘informative’ reaction even though what I’m doing here definitely qualifies as informative, so if I make another list like this for March 2024 I’ll bypass this website and post it on Reddit. Maybe they’ll appreciate it 🖕 (how’s that for netiquette). Anyway here’s the list!!

2. The Lemon Twigs - They Don’t Know How to Fall In Place
1. Faux Real - Rent Free

Here’s March’s list even though you don’t deserve it 😡. It features the strongest and most varied batch of songs yet! It’s got jazz, metal, hardcore punk, country, indie rock, R&B, synthpop, shoegaze, dream pop, UK bass, various singer-songwriters.

Like last month, I went for a left field pick for #1. Veronica Flair manages simultaneously to be nostalgic and futuristic, and as with Rent Free even though there’s something familiar about the sound I like the fact that I can’t pinpoint the song’s exact influences. It features two minutes of verse/chorus followed by a 55 second saxophone solo and then a 45 second keyboard(?) solo. You’d think the chorus would then come back in to close things out, but instead Devin reappears vocalising until it all fades away. I love how the song is structured.

And maybe I’m easily pleased but of the 136 singles from 2024 that I listened to for the first time in March, I only rated 15 of them lower than 6 out of 10. I got rid of my ‘one song per artist’ rule for this list because it didn’t make sense to me to keep doing it that way:

47. Solomon Fox - weird
46. Wand - Help Desk
45. Billy Morrison with Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Stevens - Crack Cocaine
44. The Sorcerers - Yasuke in Roppongi

39. Strand of Oaks - More You
38. Tyler Ramsey - These Ghosts
37. Two Shell & FKA twigs - Talk to Me
36. Sofia Bolt (feat. Stella Donnelly) - Bus Song
35. Mount Kimbie (feat. King Krule) - Empty and Silent
34. Julian Lage - 76
33. Cola - Bitter Melon
32. Wisp - Enough for you
31. Bullion - Affection
30. Laufey - Goddess

Veronica Flair was a fun watch/listen. I’ll be watching Morrissey in Vancouver from 2019 tonight.

But with Faux Real, for the first time in a long time I’m hearing a band where I want to know everything about them, all their influences (even though I’m not finding much)

Hearing that BoC, made me think of one of my favorite records, it’s only flaw, to my ear, is their attempt at a pop song, fortunately it’s only one song, but the rest is interesting …
