As a quiz nerd you should not expect anything less. Oh, and by the way if you saw me on telly on Monday, it wasn't very good, was it?

Some time ago I asked a question on alt.music.smiths:

In which Smiths songs does Morrissey sing the title of another Smiths song?

I know of three - here's a starter - in Half A Person he sings "I went to LONDON and I........"

I know two others, more obvious pertinent ones - can anyone guess, or add others?

"You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby" appears in "Paint A Vulgar Picture." I'm going to keep thinking about this one. It's on the tip of my tongue.

You're right....isnt hand in glove mentioned in another as well????

You've got one of them .... one to go!!

It's not something silly like "Ask," is it? Because that appears in "Still Ill," among other songs.

No, it's more pertinent/obvious than that.

At the end of this quiz, please do a summary for us, so that we can have one post that reveals all.

Thanks U.S.

Clue - it's on the first album.

Well at the end of "Pretty Girls Make Graves," Morrissey sings part of "Hand In Glove," including those words. So Improper was right. I'd almost forgotten about that.

Yup. That's it. You have it. Help yourself to a large canister of booze.

I'll have to put that off a few months until I'm legal, but hurrah! I won!

prohibition & the flapper era

Why adhere to a bullshit law? Surely you have friends over 21 that have their own flats, a quiet gathering of a few people can be had, so there is no risk of getting caught.

Now Be Logical and Summarize

What were all the songs and the songs they referenced?

Re: prohibition & the flapper era

I'm not into alcohol really. I do have friends who could buy it for me and my roommate (who is a few months younger) has a fake ID, but I'm pretty much a teetotaller. Blame the Mormon upbringing. I still haven't acquired a taste for coffee either.

Re: prohibition & the flapper era

How ridiculous. In the UK, by law you have to drink cider around the war memorial or on the swings in the local park from the age of 12.

Sad but true. And by 14 it is compulsory to have your tongue pierced.
