Jack the Ripper is a GREAT song, where the music and lyrics mesh so perfectly to create a certain mood.

It makes me happy, too, but not in a laughing sort of way.

funny thing happened to me with november spawned a monster...on my way to see morrissey in st louis, i fell at the airport and sprained my ankle (which miraculously got better the next day for the concert, and horribly bad after I came home)...I had to be pushed in a wheelchair by my friend...and that song came to mind...so i sang it. and i am often caught saying it is possibly my favorite morrissey song.
