If you didn’t buy The Smiths’ career-spanning Complete box set last year because you’d rather cherry pick which albums to get, you’re in luck: Later this month, Rhino Records will release, in the U.K., standalone CD editions of each title in the set — all four of the band’s studio album, plus three compilations and a live album.

According to online U.K. music retailers, March 26 will see the 2011 remasters of The Smiths, Meat Is Murder, The Queen Is Dead and Strangeways, Here We Come, plus compilations Hatful Of Hollow, The World Won’t Listen and Louder Than Bombs, and the live Rank, all released on individual CDs. Rhino has not announced U.S. release plans for the separate titles.
The Smiths’ catalog was remastered by guitarist Johnny Marr and engineer Frank Arkwright from “the original tape sources” for the Complete box set, which came in CD-only, vinyl-only and CD-and-vinyl configurations. It’s not clear whether there are plans to release individual vinyl versions of in addition to the CDs; some of the Smiths albums were reissued on vinyl in 2009.

I recently bought the smiths complete and although a read overpriced is really great for someone like me who just started collecting vinyl and such. It's nice even though they're not original to have.
