Yes - the US Charlatans were a San Francisco group in the '60s, one of the fore-runners of the US psychedelic scene. The US Beat were a 70s/80s power-pop outfit. There is/was also a US Suede - who as far as I know are nonentities - but still managed to force Suede to be called London Suede in the US. The Chameleons (i.e. "Script Of The Bridge" etc.) are just called the UK Chameleons in the US, as far as I know. I don't know anything about the US Chameleons, though.
