So far I have three signatures for my 'Give Morrissey A Record Deal NOW' petition at www.gopetition.com..

If this is an indication of how many people care, then it's little wonder the majors aren't interested.

But I don't believe it is genuine indication ...please spare a few minutes and sign up!

Thanks to the few who have taken the time thus far.

well, we're tired! we've been pontificating about it for so long that we realize our opinions are like little quarks floating in the reaches of outer space.

WHO CARES!

Sorry, joke. I would have shown some support if I found the petition!

Re: Spam Spam Spam

Well it COULD be because you have to enter your e:maail address and some of us don't want to receive junk. I like the sentiment of your petition, however don't you think the sell-out shows on the recent tour was evidence enough that the public, not just visitors here at Morrissey-solo, want more of Morrissey?

Apathy is where the heart is

Signing a petition so some multi-national conglomerate can heap lots of money on Morrissey whilst investing in all sorts of horrific ventures like Third World labor markets, Enron stock, etc.? Then, we fans get the indignant pleasure of forking over an obscene wad of money for an overpriced concert ticket at some shitty venue with bully bouncers? P

No thanks.

It’s Mr. Morrissey’s job to shop for a record label. Really, what record label he ends up on is no concern of mine. The fact of the matter is that he could be recording an album right now for a small, independent label – but his ego dictates that he demand gobs of money from above mentioned evil empires.
Not only that, but MOZ most certainly has an agent, who has a staff, who have connections, who get paid, to work 8 hours a day, doing exactly what we wold be doing by signing the petition.

If they ever did care.

HHMM, Pay $15 for a CD, which the record company gets a large share or download it for free from the radio show Morrissey did. Morrissey really cares for his fans.

I don't expect blank checks at the end of the month.
I didn't earn my degrees so I could live in poverty and give my talents away. Too many middlemen shouldn't cause the artist to get blank checks either.

[BTW, I don't download. I never have. I pay for the music I enjoy.]

I HAVE AN EXCELLENT SUGGESTION FOR YOU

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A PLUMBING SNAKE AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS? LUBRICATION IS OPTIONAL.
