Can't make it to Coachella this year? On April 18, you'll get the next best thing with the DVD release of the Coachella film. The film, which saw a successful limited run in the major markets around the country, was taped at last year's festival. Performances from Belle And Sebastian, Morrissey, the Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Pixies, Kool Keith, Iggy And The Stooges, Bright Eyes, and Bjork are among some of the featured artists. Also included on the DVD will be interviews with performers Ben Harper, Dresden Dolls, Kinky, Mos Def, Muse, Jenny Lewis, Tenacious D, the Bravery, Futureheads, the Libertines, Thievery Corp and ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. Another feature will be an extensive photo gallery showcasing the festivals' first six years. The film was directed by Drew Thomas and produced by Goldenvoice and will be distributed by Anti-. The 2006 edition of the festival goes down April 29 and 30 with Depeche Mode and Tool rocking the sun-burned masses.
