Wow! We have a lot of the same favoirtes! I forgot the most important one! Radiohead! Hello! I just jotted some down without thinking. Radiohead is my biggest obsession next to Smiths/Cure. I also like Coldplay and The Pet Shop Boys and Built to Spill but couldn't fit them on my list.

I was lucky enough to see and meet Elliot Smith a few years ago... Visit my webpage and follow the "my links" page to view it...

my list changes a lot, but here goes:

1) the smashing pumpkins (and i really like billy's new band zwan as well -- this band was my first love before the smiths)
2) blur (they make some of the most beautiful pop music known to man)
3) new order (temptation is always in my list of top ten favorite songs)
4) U2 (lately, i've been rediscovering my love for them -- indie elitist opinions be damned)
5) the clash (been one of my favorites since i heard "rock the casbah" as a little kid)
6) the stone roses (love them, love them, love them)
7) belle & sebastian (a new favorite)
the pixies (an older, cooler friend introduced me to them a few years ago -- especially love "velouria")
9) the beatles (i know i say they're overrated, but i love most of their stuff anyway -- i just don't bother trying to figure it out)
10) pulp (i adore jarvis cocker's voice and wit)
11) beck (i seriously need to get "sea change" -- i've loved him for ages)
12) t. rex (i love how surreal their songs are)
13) fleetwood mac (slightly embarrassing, but i was raised on them)
14) REM (i've always admired michael stipe)
15) bis (their first album is really fun -- and their new stuff aint too shabby either)

hey, i like robbie, george, and janet too. i dislike country music, but won't be mean about it. :p

robbie is hilarious and cutely cheeky. i like his singing voice and his songs are good pure pop music.

george michael has also made some classic, classic pop songs. and his freedom video was one of the most perfect music videos ever made.

i have to say that janet jackson's "the velvet rope" was a really great album. the singles were spectacularly catchy.

I agree. You can't take him too seriously, but he is very entertaining.

George and Morrissey are my two favorite voices.

Again I agree. I like just about every song on the album. She is a great performer.

Yeah, I am not a huge country guy, but I like Chris. It is my only vice.

I love George Michael/Wham, if it was top 20, he'd be there.

Yeah, his geatest hits is in my cd player all the time (when Morrissey/Smiths isn't of course).

Freedom (G. Michael from Listen w/o prejudice, not wham) is one of my favoirte dance songs. I f***ing love that song. It's one of those songs that you put on by yourself in your room and dance to on repeat in your underwear late at night. I just put freedom on and I'm listening to it full blast!

I have: wham-make it big, George Michael-faith, Listen w/o prejudice and greatest hits. It's not something I play all the time but sometimes I need a george Michael fix that lasts for a few days.

Personal favoirtes - One more try, monkey, faith, freedom, credit card baby, careless whisper, everything she wants, and of course -I want your sex!!!!

1) sparks
2) kirsty maccoll
3) the divine comedy
4) pulp
5) the cure
6) ludus
7) radiohead
david bowie
9) the beatles
10) billy bragg
11) patti smith
12) nico
13) the clash
14) pixies
15) blondie

after sparks and kirsty maccoll, that was ridiculously difficult.

George Michael

> Yeah, his geatest hits is in my cd player all the time (when
> Morrissey/Smiths isn't of course).

I almost forgot Father Figure! Now you got me on a george michael kick, I'm listening to my third album by him since I read your post! I've been dancing my ass off too and having a great time of it! (hey it's friday night!)

Call me cheesy, call me kitchy, call me any name you want, I don't care! I won't be embarrassed of George Michael! He has one of the best voices ever. His vocal range in Kissing a Fool is better than Sinatra. Someday people will respect him. Until then, I do......

I'm also a big fan of the psychadelic furs (and LOVE SPIT LOVE!) and The Velvet Underground.
