I think you're missing the big picture here: Just shower more than once a month.

I'm aware that many of the infrastructures in Europe are crumbling and inefficient, and that such plumbing activities are a luxury, but good hygiene is a human right.

The British, on the other hand have an excuse. They've simply been lulled into waiting for everything. They wait months for healthcare, so why not wait months to shower as well? In fact, like any good nanny state the government should be in charge of showering.

Even if there is a waiting list, at least they can be sure that the minimum requirements are being met.

O so well put “Mr Pours.”

Fact is Americans like to relate to showers as opposed to baths. This is noting to do with the hygiene factor though... Noooo.. Americans find it close on impossible to get into a bath and far easier to get their f***ing fat arse’s into a shower... that's why. Lardy twat.

You might be on to something. I'm no fat arse, but I do find baths a bit... restrictive.

Taking a bath is stewing in a tub of filth. You don't get clean that way.
