This place is usually, save a couple users, very friendly, IMHO.

So then, why is Chat, where misunderstandings can purportedly be resolved almost in an instant, such an incredibly violent place. People calling each other every name in the book, repressed males coming in and saying the same things over and over again about how Moz-Solo women are fat. People posting all sorts of long winded things, having nothing to do with Moz. Users hellbent on running other users out.

Why? One minute chat is fun, the next minute the vibe is ruined.

I don't understand this.

cause people are dull and have nothing intelligent to say to each other.
It's just manifested more clearly in a chat, rather than on this board
(on a board you write if you feel like you have something to say, in a chat you feel obliged). People tend to be defensive when they are engaged in a conversation they don't want to make, or feel they have nothing to say.

Yes the chatrooms needs to be updated, however it is up to DavidT if he wants to waste time and energy doing this. We need a few Moderators who could "kick" the guilty parties, ban certain IP addresses. Or, only allow registered names into the chat. I'm sure the standard would improve if one of these solutions was put into place.

The "ignore" button only works on one person at a time, so its pointless when they leave and come in under another *usually hilarious* name and start posting their inane drivel.

The insults have started to become frighteningly personal and nasty. And although we may have thick skins, it does upset me when myself, or somebody that I know, is treated this way.

How I long for the days when the only sanity-challenged person that came in was Brianne. Whatever happened to her?

Let's all try and get on together like the adults we are.
