Chickens are actually very affectionate. A lot of birds are. My dad has a cockatoo that every morning at sunrise she squaks a little bit, like a whisper. He gets out of bed, gets her out of her cage, brings her into bed where she gets under the covers and sleeps for two or three hours under the covers with him. For the last ten years he's done this. She has to have that cuddle time every morning or she goes bananas all day. I feel so sorry for affectionate birds stuck in cages alone all day.
