Top 10 Albums at the moment

god, looking at all those Sinead albums, it makes Franz look um-popular. lol

It's a phase. I've been filling in the gaps in my Sinéad collection since May, so I've been listening to her more than usual. At this time last year, I was doing the same with Morrissey, and before that, Joni Mitchell, and before that, Elvis Costello, etc. I don't even want to think about who's going to be next (please don't let it be R.E.M.; there's way too much out there that I don't have!)

just listen to Franz! lol. their new album is coming out early next year! (i learned that today)

yes, it is a phase, every time i listen to a great band, i have to have every song, even if its complete crap. its only Franz and smiths/moz right now, but just wait.

But that's just it--even my favorite bands (currently Moz, The Beatles, The Smiths, & Sinéad) each get less than 10% of my total song plays each. I can't OD on one or two bands at a time like I could 20 years ago.

You have incredibly good taste. The only thing off your lists that I don't have (and love) is The Triffids. I think I should check them out.

Using the rules stated in the original post (only 1 album per group/artist, no greatest hits, and no live albums), here are my 10, in alphabetical order by artist:

--Tori Amos: "Little Earthquakes"
--Kate Bush: either "The Dreaming" or "Hounds of Love" (don't make me choose!)
--Peter Gabriel: "Peter Gabriel 2"
--Genesis: "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"
--Joni Mitchell: "Blue"
--Van Morrison and the Chieftains: "Irish Heartbeat"
--Morrissey: "Vauxhall and I"
--Sinead O'Connor: "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got"
--The Police: "Outlandos d'Amour"
--The Smiths: "The Smiths"
