I always wondered exactly how close Morrissey and Billy were. Billy was gay but quite closeted, and never publicly came out.
 
Not great

Well, the song was recorded (or demoed) back in 1993 when Alan Rankine and Billy MacKenzie thought it was a good idea to get back together. As it turned out, it was hardly inspirational. The songs sounded listless and somewhat forced. Kinda like what Bryan Ferry did in the 1990s...vapid, slick art pop. It became apparent to them that it wasn´t working out and the reunion never went beyond that.
