Scottish albums of the decade

No James Grant! He is simply the best singer-songwriter to come out of Scotland - ever.

YES....I'm listening to it right now as a matter of fact....love the strings...

Ah me too, lovely throughout:)

Another yes! It's definitely my favourite. Well, besides Tigermilk.

haha I was browsing the song obsession thread today and saw that you posted Too Much Love a few weeks ago! I must have listened to that song ten million times.

Its nice you both like the album too! It's rare, don't you find? From what I've read, the band aren't particularly chuffed with that period. Whitelaw isn't very optimistic about the album in his book either, naming Chalet Lines as one of the only standout tracks (from what I recall). I agree with you though jesuisbryony, it's def one of my favorite B&S albums.

Mogwai would have held places one through four on my personal list, so I'm glad to see them decently represented. Ditto Arab Strap. Would've liked to see "Fold your hands child" in there though. Idlewild never did much for me, makes me think of "landfill indie" in fact. To say nothing of Glasvegas, who are as landfill as it gets.

cheers
