um, yes we are proud of you, but why on earth hasn't this guy posted his own website? Why did he go through the trouble of emailing it to you, and then us having to turn around and ask you?

There is a complicated story around that involving a chat i had with him.............

He sent me the sample because he does not have the tracks

they are in america apparently and will be posted to a secret website next week.............

Suzanne have you requested the 60 second sample yet?

If not just listen and enjoy...........

I am doing this for the morrissey fans who are desperate for new material..........

the reason he gave me the sample is between me and Michael Legge but its only about a week until FOUR WHOLE NEW SONGS are available and the sample is very enticing just listen to it...............

Thanks Michael Legge again..................

*sigh*

I know I'm going to be dull about this, but I think I'll wait for the "secret" website to come out as to not lose the effect.

And I'm doing this for the land of Freedonia!

Re: i don't think so

for fu.cks sake, however he got the track, he got it. it's real and it's good. relax and stop attacking everyone. it's getting, as you said, very "dull."

how is saying that i'm going to wait a few weeks the same as attacking?

Re: i don't think so

I saw a posting of this last week. This ight be the secret website:

I recieved this email from Mikey today, which makes me more optomistic on the matter.

MICHAEL:

My friend used to work in Clive Langer's recording studio. He taped the tracks and gave them to me. That simple. If I could upload these tracks today, I would, but I don't know anything about computers. I was able to send a one minute clip to Ben Lilly (also on the Morrissey-Solo
comments) and I asked Morrissey-Solo fans to offer help quite a long time ago. All I
got back was a bunch of bitter people telling me I didn't have the tracks. Hmmmm, then what have I been listening to? At the moment I'm in contact
with Kristin Pradlik who run's an American based Smiths website, she has kindly agreed to upload the tracks for me. I thought having a playback at a comedy show might be a fun way of hearing the songs first. Hope that clears some stuff up.

www.michaellegge.co.uk

.... Now this might become a reality as Kristins' website is "I WANT THE ONE I CAN'T HAVE", which also features Mp3s of the week. I frquent her site quite alot and is very good, maybe this isn't a hoax.

Chris S. aka MOZ HEAD 2000
p.s: if you want a link to her site, i have it in my quick links in my webpage under hte name MRS Shankly's MP3 of the week.

i'm not arguing if it's a hoax or not, as I think that I belong to the camp of the believers even without hearing it, but I was wanting to know why it was being done the way it was, and how this guy would let this other guy have a :60 sample as he definitely has it on his computer, but couldn't upload all of it until later. And why Morrissey doesn't seem to care about this. If there was supposed to be some grand ribbon cutting.

it's kinda like peeking at a christmas present early and I opt to sit back and take it in at once.

Y'know I'm not mean or angry all the time. I can be curious as well and ask questions or try to think of what people are doing and they not mean that I'm being an angry and sceptical bitch.

Unfortunately, Suzanne, certain people base their opinions on only a handful of your posts (posts which are a part of a debate or argument), therefore, anything you post will be misinterpreted.

what? can't they read the hundreds and hundreds of posts I have ever written?

p.s.

can't i scratch my head in wonderment over why this guy is using Morrissey's material to promote his own standup comedy? or is this kinda like having to throw down your gun when someone takes an 8 year old hostage?

Ok lets all tell michael to forget the release of the songs.

You will no doubt be one of the first to download them.

Someone warned me about the message board but i didnt believe them.

All this scepticism is life sapping..............

Hmm. So that means the answer to Suzanne's question is "Yes"?
I don't know about you, but "of the posts I've read" about these "minor" tracks, I find all this quite the orchestration. Oooh the an-ti-ci-pa-tion.

OK. Four songs that didn't get the release approval of our dear Musical Genius are to be made public, or at least possibly to a limited audience. Collectors cheer, but probably hope the "happy few" will be both happy, and certainly few. What about the common mortal? I have to admit that I'm not dying to hear those tracks. I bet they are interesting, but from what point of view?

Are we "sceptic"? Geez, why would we? If tomorrow someone found a page of Joyce's Finnegan's Wake that was left out by the master himself ... who'd be dying to have it? In what way would it alter our understanding of Joyce? I really don't know.

Given the end that "Frankly Vulgar" has known, and the SwithM turmoil, I hope Mr. Legge has it all on the OK side as far as legal smallprints are concerned.

For the rest, back to the original proportions: Morrissey is still without a record deal, new stuff is written, yet not recorded, we had a fantastic tour, Moz is doing fine, and I hope he's happy.

Re: Of the posts i've read ...

You know, I was thinking the same thing; what makes THIS "unofficial" unveiling of Morrissey's work different than the other stuff which was all but promised to us, only to be yanked away in the end by the Moz camp?

I, like Suzanne, will wait for the website. I'm not sure why.

My sentiments exactly.

There's just something a little bit dodgy about "Mozzerian". I haven't seen him around our way before and then he arrives bearing gifts from the man of a man who knows a man. Then again I'm always a bit suspicous of people.

Im "dodgy" because:

Im relatively new to the internet and this site

I was lucky to have an exchange of words via email with michael legge following my comments in his guestbook (take a look for yourself)
which led him to send ME the sample and i couldnt keep it to myself
so i stayed online all day to send it to people who wanted it

yes im dodgy and lets hope more dodgy people come here offering new glimpses of morrissey

You just cannot please some people.................

Re: Of the posts ive read you seem depressed

> Ok lets all tell michael to forget the release of the songs.

I don't see the correlation between the statements "I have Morrissey songs" and "I have a standup comedy act."

What if I came here and said, "OK, I have demos of the upcoming album which an engineer in Morrissey's studio gave to me. David T has verified their validity. You must come to my website and listen to my MP3s to figure out which of my songs has verbal instructions on how to get a hold of them tagged on the end"?

Or, even more boringly, what if I told each and every one of you that you have to look at .jpg's of the logs I write as part of my job around the sales department, and somewhere buried amongst the ITT Tech and Ben White Automotive spots, one of those pages has the web address of the morrissey songs?

I know for certain that at the next Moz-con, they would bring me out, tie me to a post, and let the entire audience pummel me with canned tomatoes.

This is assuming they are not nice enough to bring plastic snack cups or fresh fruit.

Of course, there will be some like yourself who would hail me as a hero and carry me around on their shoulders, but let's think of good ol' Boz who shared the song "Kitt" from the generosity of the bottom of his little heart. And he recorded and wrote the song! Morrissey has music to put his words to thanks to Boz.

I mean, it's nice of him to .eventually. share the songs, but unless he has a specific directive from Morrissey that this is how he wants it unveiled, he is basically coattailing off of what someone else has done.

> You will no doubt be one of the first to download them.

That is, IF I get an invite.

You assume that much.

But I hadn't asked you for the clip, have I? So, obviously, I wasn't the first.

Sure, some rogue MIGHT send me the webaddress eventually on down the line, but I'm putting my chances on being in that first elite batch at going either way.

he might do it just to see how long it takes me, but I didn't sign his guestbook.

> Someone warned me about the message board but i didnt believe
> them.

I'm the same person who posts everywhere else!

> All this scepticism is life sapping..............

welcome to the world of Morrissey.
