On 27th October 1983 The Smiths played Kingston Polytechnic, England; and now, exactly 17 years later I'm looking out of the office window out at the building where it happened. I am led to believe they came here after an appearance on Top of the Pops..... but I find that 'This Charming Man was released on 28th October, so that doesn't seem to make sense.
What a pity I wasn't there. Well I didn't live round here then, but oh!, what a thrill it would have been. We you there?
