MORRISSEY + JOHN PEEL !!!!!

I've just skimmed through one of the two John Peel biographies that have just been released. The Smiths are mentioned a lot obviously, but it also says that Morrissey did a Peel session early on in his solo career but that he was very unhappy with the final results and so that session remains unheard today...

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I've never heard this story before.

Is it true?
If so, has anyone heard the actual session in question??
