Don't you think this last tour has done Morrissey the world of good?
He looks far more handsome now, than when he appeared on Jon Ross or Jools Holland.
The British climate agrees with him obviously.
When are you coming home M?

How do you know? I haven't seen any recent pics.

He looked pretty good on Jools Holland though

The thing is - Morrissey's face structure is actually very handsome. Just take a look at what a bit of makeup achieved on the two top of the pops appearances. His skin isn't as great as it used to be, probably due to weight gain and the effects of the LA Sun, but if Morrissey really wants to improve his appearances, he's a prime candidate for plastic surgery. The structure of his face is very handsome and if he could get a little of the exra fat taken away, and get himself a face-lift, I think it would take 10 years off his appearance. Plus, he should wear jackets wide at the top and narrow at the hips. That emphasises his height and makes him look slimmer around the middle.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should necessarily get plastic surgery, but IF he wants to look his best, it would probably be a good idea. WHo knows, perhaps Nancy can recommend a decent surgeon.

Well looking at Nancy I certainly wouldn't use hers. It's so obvious.
Anyway I hope to God Morrissey never feels the need to go down that road, that's for Crashing Bores surely.
In his own words, "How can you improve on perfection".
I'm judging him on seeing him in concert, being at the front, you do get a pretty good view of him.
I just think he looked so much better than on the Ross and Holland shows.
You've attended recent concerts, surely you must know what I mean?

I honestly don't see how plastic surgery is for "crashing bores." I think you have to have one of two views - either physical appearance doesn't matter, and you just try to separate the physical out of things, or physical appearance does matter. In which case, why not improve things slightly? Morrissey has constantly set great store by his physical appearance. If he looked like Jimmy Tarbuck or the Lilly Savage bloke, are you saying he'd spend his entire life being ashamed of how he looked, rather than possibly changing things a little, if it could be done successfully? I honestly think it's very easy for people who look like Halle Berry or Ben Affleck to say to everyone, "Oh surgery is mad!" but if your physical appearance matters, and it clearly does to Moz, I personally think he should do whatever it takes. There are lots of ugly people out there, who for whatever reason look awful. Of course it would be a fantastic thing if those people could look better, rather than having to spend their entire lives being treated as second class citizens.

Well, then perhaps the real solution is to stop treating those who are less than perfect as "second-class citizens." In your view, every single one of us could use surgery. There are many more useful things to spend your money on. If you're throwing money into plastic surgery to "improve things slightly," then your values are pretty messed up.

I'm not throwing money into plastic surgery. And no, their values are not messed up if they are. Let's have a bit of clarity of thought instead ot this woolly-minded "well it's not right, it just ain't" crap people tend to come out with. WHY is it wrong? WHY is it a waste of money?

The fact is people who are unattractive are treated as second class citizens. I think it's more than just a little patronising for someone who is attractive to lecture them on what they can and cannot spend their money on. Does someone's physical appearance matter? Yes or no? If yes, as most people who have sex would answer, then why should those who have drawn a shorter straw not improve things for themselves slightly? Good-looking people will spend thousands of pounds on a holiday in the Sun or a sunbed that ruins their skin and potentially causes cancer, just so they can get laid more often, then lecture some pretty ugly looking folk on the morality of cosmetic surgery. That, my friend, is f***ed up.

Having plastic surgery won't delay death though will it? And that's the reason people are so scared of aging.

One of the reason's we can't accept popstars ageing is it reminds us time is slipping away. I hope Morrissey resists the temptation. He's said he enjoys being older, I hope it stays that way.

People are not scared only of ageing these days. Perhaps in the dear old 19th century when they found a partner for life, and were expected to live out the remaining years of their life doing their duty to God and the Queen, until finally succumbing to diarrhoea or pneumonia, aged 52, in their wife's arms. But not anymore. People want to stay young, people want to enjoy the things that society tells them they should enjoy. And, for better or worse, we're living in a world dominated by young people that sneers at age and experience.

Enjoying the wisdom that comes with getting older is a fine thing - and that remains whether or not he elects to have surgery.

Plastic surgery? HELL, NO!

I don't agree with you, Broken.

I think there is too much pressure on people
to be "perfect"; whether it be looking youthful
or wearing the right clothes. I don't believe Morrissey
need some dopey stylist imposing alot of wacky
ideas on how he should look. Nor do I believe he
need surgery.

WHY? Because he earned every grey hair on
his head and every line on his brow, just like
us "ugly" common folk do. So, let him wear it proudly.
I'll buy his records, anyway.

Would you tell Barbara Streisand to get a nose job, too?

I forgot to mention earlier, I think he has beautiful skin.
That was something that really struck me, what beautiful skin he has.
