+ bonus question: how many people were at the 'party'?

Did Girlie Action promote this?

Good stuff! Can't wait for the release. His PIMPship has called this his "best album yet". If it's "darker than Vauxhall" as you claim, Then I know I'll like it alot. Vauxhall is probably my all time favrotie album by His PIMPship.

No, this was put on by Sanctuary/Attack....

tunes that stuck out were "you have killed me"..this has single written all over it...."Pigsty" has a really cool sounding kettle drum in some parts...

the tracks with the choir were "dear god.." and "now i am born" if i recall correctly....

i remember a fair amount of falsetto on this record and moz is definitely showing off his range..

so far Visconti is right on the money.....this record is very different.

the people of Pittsburg , PA will be possibly unhappy after hearing "on the streets i ran"..
very funny line..

Re: Did Girlie Action promote this?

being this sounds like an overall heavier release, did you hear any mid-later period t. rex in any of the songs?

Alain co-writes?

Good synopsis, bernard, thank you.

Was there any material provided to indicate which other songs Alain co-wrote aside from Life Is a Pigsty?

Cheers,

Jamie

Re: Alain co-writes?

there was no indication of that. the only materials we were given were photocopies of the recent NME article and a tracklisting.

You're a legend. Unfortunately you're going to be bombarded with questions from all of us!

I take it you were already a Morrissey fan and have heard most of the previous records? Is there anything you can say about Morrissey's singing style this time out? Has he tried some different things with his vocals (pitch, phrasing, etc.)

Best,
kl

is the new album good? be completely honest with yourself - out of 10 on first impressions?

how does it compare with his better albums, vauxhall and I / your arsenal etc?

cheers

p.s

lucky sod!!

how in the heck did you hear this? and why 06APR06? Just release it.

yeah huge fan for years. one of the few I know who find his solo work to be more interesting than the Smiths....I like that it's patchy....it's more human and personal...

anyway..his vocals on this record are a bit different..he is singing higher which works really well for the most part..one song features a chorus that has him up and down quite a bit which sounds a bit odd i think....happy to see more falsetto on this one as well
