Isn't It About Time Morrissey Get Off The Fence!

Don't you find, Morrissey's refusal to acknowledge that he is gay, insulting to
the homosexual community. I can understand his denial in the early 80's; it was safer then to claim that he was celibate than a practicing homosexual. In theory, the heterosexual community wouldn't dismiss him if he didn't act on his perversions. But what about today? Isn't the world much more tolerant? Surely nobody actually believes that Morrissey hasn't been shagging all these years.

That he would have to 'confess' to the world that he actually is gay (if he is) can also be seen as an insult to the homosexuals (and heterosexuals and others as well) of the world. His sexlife, or lack thereof, is his business.

I personally think that the way he goes about it is brilliant - if it doesn't matter, why should he have to define it and tell the world?

Linder said in The Importance Of Being Morrissey that if he could sit down and write a clearly defined description of his sexuality, then he would. I don't think he is a-sexual either, just sexual.

So you guys don't think his ambiguity is a strategy? In the US, the gay community frowns upon celebrities staying in the closet - claiming it perpetuates intolerance. Morrissey doesn't have to become a spokesperson; but, why can't he just acknowledge that he is gay? I know; I know; you guys are gonna say: it is no one's business, who cares?, let it be. Well, this question is strictly for gay men: does his denial (if in fact he is gay), make you angry?

No one willing to answer?

I'm a gay male and I'll answer you

> No one willing to answer?

Why do you care what Morrissey's sexuality is? Why does it matter to you? You'll never have the chance to sleep with him, so what difference does it make?

I could care less about his sexuality. Gay, straight, whatever he is is irrelevant to me. If he is gay and chooses to stay in the closet so be it. He's not going to change the world by coming out!

> its not insulting if he isnt gay! what you bothered for anyways? its not like hes gonna get with you if he caame out! i know lots of people who have had no relationships and they are in there 40s. dont touch their personal issues!

He has admitted to sleeping with women and having had at least one physical encounter with a man.

What more do you want him to say?

> No one willing to answer?

I agree, Bardot. Once I'd read this interview I was satisfied, and it always puzzled me why other people were so confused by it when he'd already answered the question himself.

I personally think that his sexual life is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. LET THE MAN HAVE *SOME* PRIVACY, OR IS THAT TOO DIFFICULT? I am losing interest in him, but he still deserves his life and privacy. As do we ALL.

Re: Isn't It About Time Morrissey Get Off The Fence/ Uncle Sk, you're wrong babe

Also, Unkleskinny, it wasn't Linder in "The Importance of Being Morrissey" who said "if he could define it, he would," it was James O'Brien.

What about Jodie Foster, she's kept HER sexuality secret for years and years. STILL no one knows for sure. AS it SHOULD be.

Moz doesn't *owe* his personal life to his supporters, at ALL. They're lucky they get what they do. His music, his presence, HIM. Let him have a little privacy, people, it's the very least you could do...

No IT DOES NOT nake me angry. What is the matter with you and all? What the f--- has it got to do wiyh you or anyone what his sexuality is. Why the f*** do you want to know so much? Oh I believe we are talking about a musician or was that a politician. I don't liaise with arseholes any more.

The night for me was the best. Don't want to sound sad but shaking his hand was enough for now.
