It's a beautiful song. Marianne's isn't a patch on Morrissey's, but still, nice gesture.

It was his first SINGLE purchased, not album. 1965, Come And Stay With Me.

The Smiths wanted to do a duet with Marianne as well, it's in one of the books and a quote from her saying how she hung up on Morrissey and felt awful about it or something.
