Last Monday the BBC started a short season [Mondays in August] they've called "Hollywood UK". The introductory documentary confused me because a number of the people interviewed were dead (!) but now I see that it was made in 1993. It was a lovely that they made the effort to re-visit some of the locations where the films were shot.
Of particular interest to our mate Morrissey would be the item on'A Taste of Honey' with interviews with Murray Melvin, Paul Danquah & Rita Tushingham and an interview with John Schlesinger. Tom Courtney was interviewed about 'Billy Liar'. Alan Sillitoe was interviewed about 'Saturday Night and Sunday Morning' and depicted riding his bike from the Raleigh bike factory. Albert Finney was interviewed about his role.
I wish the BBC would show 'A Taste of Honey' again - they hardly ever do and the DVD costs £20 wherever you look.
