Does anyone know if morrissey's ever commented on Bernard Butler?

I've never read any Morrissey interviews where Bernard Butler was even mentioned, but I have read Bernard say unkind things about Morrissey (in a more indirect, "all singers are bastards" way though). I was wondering if perhaps I missed a public tiff between the two.

I don't know, but it has always been a fantasy of mine for Bernard to play guitar to Morrissey's lyrics. I think the result would go beyond what Moz and Marr accomplished. Bernard is a genius. But all geniuses have attitudes too, so they rarely work together. Damn them all!!!!

Bernard is without a doubt the closest i have ever heard any guitar player come to marr.....it is a pity morrissey and he could not get together.

In the November 1999 issue of Q magazine there is an article on
Bernard Butler's record collection.
''The Queen Is Dead'' is the last one on the list but he calls it
''The One Record I Couldn't Live Without''
About the record he says:
'I was 16 and the perfect sad case for it. Disenchanted from
suburbia. But that has given me a career.I Know It's Over used
to make me cry regularly, yet something like Frankly Mr Shankly
is hilariously whimsical. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out-
''And if a double-decker bus crashes into us/to die by your side
is such a heavenly way to die'' now that's a song to get into.
When they went on tour for this it was really rocky-smart suits, beautiful guitars, Morrissey at the front. Very Oasis.
Johnny says Strangeways Here We Come is their best album,
but I know better.'

The other records he listed were:
Neil Young - After Te Gold Rush
New Order - Technique
Lou Reed - Berlin
Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden
Os Mutantes - Os Mutantes
Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix
Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure
Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul
Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks
