not a homophobe or care about moz' sexuality...
but i've ran into some people that automatically assume i'm gay or bi, because i listen to smiths/moz muzic.

i'm relatively a new fan... and hetero, but the question is... is this the stigma [for lack of a better word] that fans carry?

interested in your thoughts?

Dude, are you choosing to what music to listen in order to build certain "image" of yourself? Or do you listen what you really like? And if you like Smiths, why do you care?

Now, for pure, idealistic souls, STOP READING HERE...
On the cynical side, being a straight Smithfan would never hurt your standing with a lot of girls, quite opposite...

Just a couple episodes me wearing a Smiths T-shirt...

Teens in buggy pants at Mission Bay, San Diego, loudly for me to hear: "Morrissey is a pussy". I found it funny, at least So Cal highschoolers exibit Moz-name recognition...

But on the good side: about 100 and 1 babes starting conversation with me "Vow, I like Morrissey too!" (Not that I'm Romeo, I'm a nerd, so the reason was not my toned muscle mass or handsome face, but T-shirt) In my case, so, I look kind of a borderline straight versus straight-acting queer type, so the next question of 50% of those girls would be "will you give me some shopping advice?" In you case, hopefully it would be: "your place or mine"

So You decide what the odds are (wink, wink)

A few years ago, as a freshman in college, I had a beautiful poster of Morrissey on my wall. I was asked by someone who lived in the dorm whether I was gay. He then told me if it was just a poster of the Smiths that would be cool, but having one of Morrissey alone was gay. Thankfully I never talked to that dude again.

I am sure a latino asked you the question,

Most latinos/hipanics/mexicans are very homophobic
the lations that do not like morrissey hate the ones that do, and think they are all a bunch of pussy fags

The lations that love morrissey are also homophobic and are too weak to admit the fact that he is gay.

He is not bisexual or celebate these days, he is 100% cum loving gay
and I love him more for it, I was lucky enough to sleep with him after
spending a few hours with him in a local pub in LA.

If you cannot deal with the fact that your hero is loved by low brow homophobic trash then find a new one...

You are both judgemental and homophobic.
