If you can remember how your old records used to go, most b sides of the old 7" singles can be found on various compilation CD'S now. Here's a few of mine anyway:

1 The Smiths - Half A Person (B Side of Shoplifters)
2 The Jam - Liza Radley (B Side of Start)
3 The Specials - Friday Night/Saturday Morning (B Side of Ghost Town)
4 The Clash - 1977 (B Side of White Riot)
5 New Order - 1963 (B Side of True Faith)
6 The Ruts - H Eyes (B Side of Babylons Burning)
7 The Undertones - One Way Love (B Side of Jimmy Jimmy)
8 Morrissey - Sister I'm A Poet (B Side of Everyday Is like Sunday)
9 The Housemartins - Drop Down Dead (B Side of Sheep)
10 The Buzzcocks - Just Lust (B Side of Ever Fallen in Love)

Some bands put out some great tracks on B Sides, other bands didn't Siouxie & The Banshees aren't the best of bands when it comes to B sides.

Anyone like to share any of theirs ?

Without having my collection, this is a hard one for me today.

But Suede seem to have the best B-sides. Especially the We are the Pigs and Stay Together B-sides.

Oh I disagree Sioux had some great b-sides. Especially the Tinderbox ones, that made the CD and not the cass or LP. Umbrella was it?

Yes the Tinderbox ones were very good, I really like that instrumental "Quarter Drawing Of The Dog" which was on either "Cities In Dust" or "Candyman", but other than that most of their earlier B Sides consist of mainly tribal drumming. Tinderbox is one of my favourite albums, everyone seems to quote the Scream when talking about the Banshees LP'S.

I think the later stuff is miles better.... although I loved the singles from Tinderbox and hated the album (and it was housed in their worst sleeve design, too, truly horrible).

My favourite Banshees album is Peepshow, and the singles, especially the incredible 'Peek a boo' are just so great, even today.

But then, I seem to be about the only Banshees fan who likes Through the Looking Glass (I still prefer her version of 'The Passenger').

The Creature's 'Boomerang' was a great album, too, remember 'Pluto Drive'?

Hey, what you do you have against Tornadoes? I love the photograph?

I agree Peek a boo is a fun song, especially for the banshees. Did you know the the peek a boo single came with a Sioux mask? It was funny..

Nah.. I loved that cover record. We all had a great time with it in the 80's. But now I can only think of AbFab when I hear Wheels on Fire..
Boomerang was great too, different but great. Yes, but was Pluto Drive on the CD or the Cassette? I seem to remember one one being unavailable. Standing There was the obvious favorite..

Great topic! Wasn't New Order "1963" a single though back in 1987? Anyways, here's some of mine off the top of my head:

Morrissey - "Let the Right One Slip In"
REM - "Fretless"
Bjork - "Charlene"
Beck - "Fume"
Suede - "Money" or "The Big Time"
Depeche Mode - "Death's Door" or "Sea of Sin"
Pet Shop Boys - "Your Funny Uncle" or "We All Feel Better in the Dark"
The Verve - "So Sister"

For some I couldn't decide for sure, especially Suede and Pet Shop Boys who are known or used to be known for such excellent b-sides.

Lost, I`d love too, The Girl Least Likely Too - all from Morrissey. In Brazil we have almost no B-sides...

Siouxsie

I have the card mask from Peek a boo... and the gatefold 7", working in a record shop at that time, so had the lot, promos and all.

Tinderbox sleeve... the colours are nasty, the design is just.... sub-Siouxsie.

Re: Siouxsie

..and you may have read my festival comments but the Red Hot Chili Peppers surprised me and really made my night last night when they talked of 'influences from Britain' and then launched into the haunting bass line of Siouxsie and the Banshees 'Christine'.. and sang it superbly..

Christine. the Strawberry girl...
