Are you, perchance, referring to "Sheridan Whiteside?"

If so, he was the title character in the film, "The Man Who Came To Dinner." Morrissey took a line from that movie (changing it slightly) and used it in "Cemetry Gates:"

"All those people, all those lives, where are they now
With loves and hates and passions just like mine
They were born and then they lived and then they died
It seems so unfair, I want to cry"

I think he may have also used "Sheridan Whiteside" as a pseudonym of sorts.

HOPE

THAT

HELPS.

> And where can I read his writing?

Morrissey used the nom de plume Sheridan Whiteside in order to submit (among other things) gig reviews to the NME.

IS Sherridan WhiteSIDE

Ah, yes, 'twas Sheridan WhiteSIDE

Thanks to the Shoplifters Union I have found the etching in the run out groove of 'I started something.....' is :

"MURDER AT THE WOOL HALL"(X)STARRING SHERIDAN WHITESIDE

Thank you all.
