Should Moz consider Wotapalava?

Just wondering what you guys think of this .... now that Sinead O'Connor has officially backed out of the gay themed Wotapalava tour (helmed by Pet Shop Boy, Neil Tennant), wouldn't it be a great opportunity for Morrissey to join the line up and tour the states? The other acts include Rufus Wainwright, Soft Cell, Monster Magnet, and the Pets themselves, so I think Morrissey would fit perfectly among this eclectic crowd.

Of course, I doubt Moz would join such an overt outing, as he tends to lean on the subtle side of life. But I just want to see him live again, and it would be great to see him join such a ground-breaking festival!

I believe Culture Club has filled Sinead's absence on that bill.

Anyway, assuming all the performers are openly gay (not sure on this one, as I don't know all the participants), Morrissey would probably not want to be involved.

Re: Should Moz consider baklava?

I hear it's very nutty and sweet, but I don't know enough about it to know if he should eat any.

MONSTER MAGNET IS GAY???????????????

I never got past "They suck" to find out about the gay part.

I think Moz should do Wotapalava. He never would though.

Perhaps REM????

it's actually the magnetic fields that are playing, and they are quite good. in fact, stephin merritt listed the best lyriists and morrissey was on his list...a man of great taste, and talent, unlike the majority of bands praising Moz recently.

Are you kidding? She hasn't even told ME how it's done (which is probably because I've never actually asked).

But I've seen her do it: walnuts, phyllo dough, butter, honey.

Oh, and a clove on each piece.

Heh. every time I see "clove" I always think of cigarettes.

"Garnished with a clove cigarette butt..."

mmmmm

heheh...at least I THINK it's a clove.

It looks like a little brown push-pin. Are those cloves?

I only know what cloves look like ground and I know what they smell like when people light up.

Apparently, the Armenians are trying to lay some claim to Baklava. Made something out of my moosewood recipe book a while back called Paklava. Made with phyllo, honey, walnuts, and er, butter. And oranges. Can't forget oranges.

But I butchered it a bit coz I was trying to watch Rocco e suoi fratelli...rocco and his brothers...and the video was due back the next day and it was 3 hours long and I'm a firm believer in returning movies on time.

Of course, I try and watch the 2nd tape after making it through the first half and the video quality was so bad that I almost got a headache. I should have turned it off, but I had hope from the little bits of video I was able to see that I would be able to get the jist of what happens.

They smell pretentious. :p

WhatWhatWHAT!?!?!?

A-ha! THAT'S the difference between Armenian "Paklava" *snicker* and Greek Baklava: we use a LEMON rind, I believe (I think you drop it in the honey as it's cooking...or something).

BTW: If I'm not mistaken, the name "Phyllo" is taken from the Greek word which means "leaf," so put THAT in your Clove cigarette and smoke it, Armenians!

...as am I - rewound and everything.

Never saw Rocco and His Brothers. Heard of it, but that's about it.
