Was there anyone else at the Forum on saturday who cringed when Morrissey introduced Meat Is Murder?
Considering his recent penchant for bacon sarnies in the diners of Camden, it's alittle much to take.....

> What does wanker mean, exactly? I know it's a bad thing, but I was just wondering...

Did Morrissey then do "Meat is Murder"? Any other Smiths songs in the tour repetoire?

'Wanker' is British slang for 'masturbator'. Like other filthy sex-related slang words ('twat' for instance) it's used as a substitute for 'loser' or whatever. The British have the most disgusting vocabulary on the planet. Shame on them.

Is It Really So Strange and Last Night I drempt...... were both played on saturday night.

They've been played on all the shows so far. When I saw him in Stockholm, though, I felt that "Meat Is Murder" and "Last Night..." were the weakest moments of the concert, completely outdone by everything else on the setlist (except "Sunny", perhaps). But "Is It Really So Strange" was surprisingly great, a really electrified version which rocked a lot.

You cringe because you're a species-ist. I doubt Morrissey eats bacon, but that's really not the crucial point anyway. One can take a political stance against the horrors of the meat industry without even being a vegetarian at all. No sane person can not be outraged by that industry unless they don't have the facts.

Yeah, but how do you maintain a clean conscience when you eat meat that's been through the whole process, cursing all the while the horrible industry?
I myself love meat, and I eat with a clean conscience because I blissfully know nothing about the industry.

I think that Morrissey was also trying to make a point about his
views on Racism by mentioning slave trade and the holocaust alongside the meat business which everyone knows he's not in favour of.

So, you don't think he was being even the slighest bit pretentious?

No,I don't.
Didn't he also mention something about a ban on foxhunting?

I hate the meat industry too. I probably would give up eating meat, but its so much more convenient to try to ignore what is really going on. I don't eat meat very often though. However, I don't understand how anyone might be able to go on without the occasional peice of bacon. : ) Bacon kicks @$$! I love it.

I'm a species-ist because I thought he was being pretentious above and beyond his usual?
