Question for you Brits

Yoko

...she was the greatest thing John ever gave us.

Anyone who's heard the genius that is her 'Walking on thin ice' single can vouch for that.

Immensely talented and WAY before her time.

Saw her in London 3 weeks ago doing a PA in a club, a Danny Tenaglia remix of her 70s track 'Open your box' (fantastic).

Her early 70's album, APPROXIMATELY INFINITE UNIVERSE is fantastic.

you have to filter out the BS...and say no to Yoko!

they did write the most creative melodies and best songs. paul wasnt that cool, but he was and still is a really nice guy. also, it was the four of them together that made it great, without Paul, corny as he could be, it wouldnt have been the same. you have to listen to the beatles, i think, and try not to associate them with all that hippy-love hype. just listen to the tunes for what they are and youll find it hard not to be blown away. anyone who is a songwriter or musician could spot that in a second. they did beautiful harmonies and really used a lot of chords & things that most rock bands dont. they didnt necessarily rely on pentatonic scales for all their solos...their lyrics are right up there with morrissey's, in my opinion, but again, you can be fooled into thinking theyre cheesy when you picture them in Sgt Pepper outfits or whatever. as for Yoko, i dont know her music 'cos i never bothered - im sorry, but i think she's always been a bit of a c*nt! as john lydon said - everyone knows that as soon as a bird starts poking her nose into a rock band, that's the end of it...
