”My whole life has been decided by fate. I think something more powerful than we are decides our fates for us. I know one thing - I’ve never planned anything that ever happened to me.” -Sharon Tate
I've had a strange fascination with a certain pin-up the last couple days. My friends who I'm housesitting for bought a fake pinup painting at a gas station on a whim to put over the bed of their newly renovated master bedroom. So they bought a book of the real paintings of Gil Elvgren, and I play this game where I compare the details of the two. At first glance it's very convincing, but the hair is all wrong, the lace is missing so much, the fur on the bear is weird. And I imagine the poor Vietnamese sweatshop factory that;s churning out fake pinup girls to sell at gas stations and how these artists solve these knock-off painting problems. "Just give her gold shoe, it same thing. She no need fingernail, they no tell."
I put Barney in there to give perspective of how big the painting is.
