Feeling Gloomy- Morrissey Night

Join Len and Cliff as they celebrate the career of the Godfather of
misery: Morrissey. Expect a plenty of tunes charting his career from The
Smiths on to his solo career (and glossing over the Southpaw Grammar
album). We'll be sticking on his videos and wearing our cardies and
hearing aids as well as waving gladioli above our heads in a dangerous
manners. The Miserablists air guitar band, will even be dedicating a set
to his Mozness by playing even more of his tunes than normal. There will
also be a 'Moz-alike' competition (as a few bequiffed-ones always turn up)
and a few games where those spotting the Moz tune first win a prize. Like
'Name That tune' but with added sorrow and without that annoying pratt Tom
O'Connor. We'll even be making a cake for him (No animal products
involved) and sticking posters of him all over the walls. It'll be like a
World of Moz. Can you stand it? Bring on the misery!
Feeling Gloomy is the World's first only club night devoted to sad music
and has been described by the nice chaps at the Guardian as 'Brilliant' and
'The High Priests of Sonic Misery' by the lovely Times People.

Saturday 17th March at Bar Academy, 16 Parkfield St, London, N1 (Nrst
Tube Angel). 10pm-4am
£6 before 12£8 after. NUS £5. Adv tickets £3.75 from www.feelinggloomy.com

Good God! Can they cram any more downcast words in that preview?

Would like to be there, but cannot. Have fun!

Peter

The godfather of misery! Are they serious. Some people just dont get it. Same old shit. And this is meant to be a tribute! Might give this one a miss.

Understand misgivings stated above, but this club night really is a breath of fresh (stale?) air. Have only been to a standard gloomy night but, dare I say, I felt uncomfortably at home. I personally fancy going as an alternative to usual Patrick's Night booze up.

I posted above, then I realised the intentions of the organisers. It's so heavy with irony it might fall through the floor. Have a good night, Ms. Dougal. If I was in London, I'd come, but it's my son's birthday and he want to go to the footy. Pah.

Well, it is in Islington, Home of the Literatti, ahem..Glad to hear you're behaving in a responsible Fatherly fashion even if under duress- but that's how Dads should do everything. Anyways, if I go, I shall take something slim and leatherbound for company.
