and try not to bicker with one another, there's enough of that on the board as it is.

1. "I Will See You In Far-off Places" -- 3 stars
2. "Dear God Please Help Me" -- 5 stars
3. "You Have Killed Me" -- 4 stars
4. "The Youngest Was The Most Loved" -- 4 and half stars
5. "In The Future When All's Well" -- 4 stars (close to 4 and a half stars)
6. "The Father Who Must Be Killed" -- 5 stars (i like it a lot although i understand some who would rate it lower)
7. "Life Is A Pigsty" 5+ stars (i guess the plus means it's my absolute favorite)
8. "I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now" -- 3 stars
9. "On The Streets I Ran" -- 2 stars
10. "To Me You Are A Work Of Art" -- 2 and a half stars
11. "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy" -- 3 stars
12. "At Last I Am Born" -- 3 and half stars (a good closer as it is meant to be)

overall i feel the album is much better than YATQ and maladjusted. reasonably better than Southpaw Grammer (which unlike most people i like very much) it's close to Vauxhall and I, although in the end V&I still beats it slightly (what else is new). before listenning to it i was afraid the lyrics would suck...they don't!!! much better than YATQ--more universal, great stories, great emotion. some people said it was all too much about morrissey, not allowing us to identify; i don't feel that way at all!! far from it.

ROTT the album gets an overall score of--- a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

The second half isn't perfect (for me) so it can't get 5 out of five stars. at the same time, i feel at least a couple of the tracks 8-11 will grow more on me .

revision...."In the Future" reaching 5 stars....classic Moz

I'd wait till the actual album for best sound quality

All these leaked MP3's sound like muffled shit.

i ran the songs through the equalizer in my head. what? you don't have one?

Okay here's how they feel to me...
1. "I Will See You In Far-off Places" -- 3 stars
2. "Dear God Please Help Me" -- 5 stars love this song
3. "You Have Killed Me" -- 5 stars again love this song
4. "The Youngest Was The Most Loved" -- 4 stars
5. "In The Future When All's Well" -- 4 and a half stars

7. "Life Is A Pigsty" 10 stars -- Okay, I know I got a little overexcited but

I absolutely love this song, Brilliant!!!
8. "I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now" -- 4 stars
9. "On The Streets I Ran" -- 3 stars
10. "To Me You Are A Work Of Art" -- 4 stars
11. "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy" -- 4 stars
12. "At Last I Am Born" -- 3 stars

I really like this album can't understand why some people are ripping it. I love Vauxhall and I, probably one of my fav Moz albums if I was forced to pick just one, but I think Mozzers head and heart were in a different place and the sound and sentiments captured at that time on that album will never be recreated. That being said I really enjoyed ROTT and I can't wait for the B-sides!

i first heard the entire album in late january. since then, a few songs that didn't quite grab me at first have really grown on me.

in particular, "to me you are a work of art." the vocals during the chorus of this song are so incredibly beautiful.

it took some time for YATQ to really grow on me, but this album kicked my ass upon first listen. i am so proud of/happy for him.

sorry, i'm a bit drunk.

xx

OK - for me, this album is for the most aprt good to great. I used my iTunes rating system - no half stars given.

5 stars = an undefiable classic (Moz/Smiths examples: There is a Light, HSIN, Shoplifters, Suedehead, Speedway, Jack the Ripper)

4 stars = A great song, one of the best songs period (Moz/Smiths examples: Cemetry Gates, Panic, Tomorrow, Trouble Loves Me)

3 stars = A good song - most songs that I like fall in this category. (Nowhere Fast, Rush and a Push, Alsatian, Boxers, Irish Blood)

2 stars = Indifference - not a song I particularly liked. (I Don't Owe You Anything, Meat is Murder, Death at One's Elbow)

1 star = songs I don't like i.e. those I typically skip whenever hey come on (Sorrow Will Come in the End)

And here's the ratings

I Will See You in Far Off Places ***
Dear God, Please Help Me ****
You Have Killed Me ***
The Youngest Was The most Loved ****
In The Future When All's Well ****
The Father Who Must Be Killed ***
Life Is A Pigsty ****
I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now ***
On the Streets I Ran ***
To Me You Are A Work of Art ***
I Just Want To See The Boy Happy ***
At Last I Am Born ****

5 great and 7 good songs. Can't really ask for much more! The only complaint is that once the crecendo is reached with Pigsty at Track 7, the album kind of coasts with nothing spectacular until the final track, which is a very fresh sound for Moz. If I had the choice, I'd rearrange ALIAB to be the opener, move Youngest to Pigsty's slot, and then close with Pigsty.

What's strange here is the average score per song is exactly the same as Vauxhall, but I give Vauxhall the nudge for having Speedway on it. At this point in time, Your Arsenal remains my favourite Moz album, followed by V&I and ROTT in third.
