Ok, unless this is all a big wind-up, he is there right now, signing something for ME.

Hmmm.

Now all I need is Craig Gammon's signature and I got the full set. WOOO!

"For a Reunion it would have to something MEGA"

oops I've already forgotten the transcript of what went on. Hear it from the horse's mouth later on.

err, something about "he doesn't mind Morrissey still playing Smiths songs, but what DOES annoy him is that the band can't get the chords right"

sheesh, did he get those clothes from oxfam?

lol! I was thinking about casually walking up to the store to see if he was there or not. Instead I went to the Stretford Arndale Centre. Bought a duvet. £9. Yep. How's everybody else's day going?

Re: "For a Reunion it would have to something MEGA"

Yes roving reporter that was the jist, I also asked him why he doesn't do any Smiths songs at his Healers gigs & he said because he doesn't feel the lyrics the way Morrissey does & also his voice, he said he'd do Meat is Murder because he believes in that song & he's more than likely going to do some Electronic stuff! Oh & we had a chat about City!

p.s. the signed bits o paper are Morrissey Blackpool tickets btw!

So do I understand this right? When asked about a possible M/M reunion he said:
"For a reunion it would have to be something mega." ?
Is that it, did nobody push it further? Asking him about why Q are touting the story or wheter he and Moz have even discussed working together recently?
Come on you guys, get your acts together.

Re: "For a Reunion it would have to something MEGA"

Ffs, some people eh? He was doing an opening of a charity shop & you want us who bothered to go to do a full interview etc, be glad of the bit of info he gave eh!

I'm so sorry for ruffling your feathers Mr O'Grady.
But the reason a well-know face is used to publicise an event is the organisers know members of the public will want to come and speak to him'her.
Oxfam have probably never heard of the healers, so they used him because of his association with Morrissey and the Smiths.
Sounds like the guy got off lightly. Don't ever apply for a job as a reporter.
Perhaps you should have stayed behind in the oxfam shop and asked if they had any vacancies in the shop for nice fluffy people who don't like a challenge.
I wish I was there I would have said, politely but firmly: "Hey johnnie, what's with Q saying you and moz have discussed working together again? Is it true?"
Then I would have followed up with: "So when was the last time you talked to moz?" and "How would you feel about working with him again."
Simple, polite and easy. As a tough Wythenshawe lad I don't think Mr.Marr would have needed a lie down afterwards.
Soloists - next time don't send Walter Softie to do a man's job.

Re: "For a Reunion it would have to something MEGA"

Ffs are you stupid or have difficulty reading? I asked him what is the chance of a reunion, why should I say I heard it from some magazine? I'm a free thinker but not a mitherer, I had a chat with him but not just about Morrissey as that would be IGNORANT, I'm not sure if you are aware but the Smiths stopped working with each other a long time ago!

Grim O'Grady

p.s. I've never wished to take up being a journalist (that lies)

No kidding, I don't think I could have managed anything beyond 'hello'. So much for my press credentials!

So what happened at the do? Did Johnny speak, have an autograph table or anything?

Re: "For a Reunion it would have to something MEGA"

He made a quick speech outside the shop then with the scissors cut the ribbon and everyone (about 20 or so) went in, more came along in the 1/2 hour I was there. He used the shop counter to sign stuff, then the tv people took him aside & interviewed him, then some jounalist interviewed him too (prob M.E.N.).
I had a chat with him about Music, Football & Morrissey. Oh & I got my picture taken with him.

Sounds fun! I would've gone and peeked round the door but I wasn't sure if it was a wind up or not. But I had an exciting day anyway...

I owe you one.

I asked him to sign this "To The Goat" but somehow, all the words came out the wrong way and sounded like "To Girl Unafraid".

No problem Miss Misery and GU - you can buy me a pint each at the next S&G!
