its hard to walk tall must be one of morrissey's best bsides, it remind me of the your arsenal era, i love the ringo reference (could it be to avoid the name of the smiths drummer?). and his use of "compadre", kind of a mexican term for the british "mate", hes studying his spanish apparently. great song! the best one of this bside batch.
 
Got to agree, for me its the guitar intro that gets me, from then im hooked
 
Gary's bass is the coolest part of this song. Good to have him back!

Remember when Boz or Alain or one of them described "You Are The Quarry" as a cross between "Your Arsenal" and "Vauxhall & I"? I suppose most of the "Your Arsenal" will be on the b-sides, like this one, eh?
 
It's bizarre how many of you are mis-hearing that word. He's singing Gringo, not Ringo.
 
Yeah, 'cause there isn't any chance he could be saying both at different parts of the song, eh ;-)
