They had no rights to the songs. Beavis and Butthead showed up, played their instruments for 90 minutes, and partied with alcohol,drugs, and women while Morrissey and Marr had to deal with everything else. I give Mike Joyce credit. The "I was too stupid to read contracts,finacial papers, and hire an accountant" defense worked very well to his advantage. Mike Joyce also knew Morrissey would never use the "I was too stupid to get the 10% in writing" defense. Can you imagine having Andy Rourke testify that he and Mike Joyce didn't understand financial statements or contracts.
