It was the crowd that reacted to the comment that Reagan Was Dead...Morrissey wasn't there punching his fist in the air with delight. He didn't say "thank god he's dead".
The statement that he wished Bush had died instead was extreme, but at the end of the day, there are many, many, millions of non terrorists on this earth who wish that he would at least disappear before he drags us all into oblivion.
And Morrissey isn't the first artist to say it either. I don't see anyone lynching Moby, Stipe et al...who are in your own backyard dishing out the same sort of remarks.
