Conan O’Brien announces U.S. tour, Bonnaroo appearance

With his return to television still a few months off (September at the earliest), former Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien is hitting the road this summer. Aptly titled the “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour,” the trek will begin next month in Edmonton and sees O’Brien paired up with sidekick Andy Richter and members of his former Tonight Show band, offering up “a night of music, comedy, hugging, and the occasional awkward silence,” TheWarp reports.
In the two months that follow, O’Brien and friends will hit at least 20 states and 30 cities, as well as this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, where the comedian is confirmed to perform at the Comedy Theatre in addition to MCing on the What Stage on Friday and Saturday (Greatest add ever?). The performances will likely be more on the level of a full-fledged late night show as opposed to a typical stand up routine. In other words, expect some more “Free Bird”-like extravaganzas.
Tickets will be available via O’Brien’s new official website, TeamCoco.com, or via Ticketmaster. Prices will likely range between $34 and $79.
O’Brien has yet to announce his return to late night television, but the host is reportedly in negotiations with Fox.
