I have heard that Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto have teamed up for the first time in over 20 years, well since early Buzzcocks days really, not sure how the Shelley/Devoto collaborations for Magazine's 'Real Life' album worked out. Anyway an album is due out early next year of new songs written by the pair.
Shelley is the only person I really follow from the punk days in terms on keeping an eye on new releases. Over the past ten years he's done some songs to rival the Buzzcocks stuff in their hay day. Devoto has been much less active, I can't recall him doing anything since Luxuria in the late 80's, still a personel favourite lyricist of mine.
I suppose you're now going to turn around and tell me this news doesn't exactly fill you with joy.
