Ali Pali pub info for those who wanna know...
Pubs near Ali Pali
VICTORIA STAKES - At bottom gate (W3 bus route) - bit posh/pricier end of market but nice. May be open till 12 that day, dunno.
THE THREE COMPASSES - Hornsey High St. Great pub, bit far from Pali on foot (and in dark) but if you catch a W3 from Pali (heading to Finsbury Park) and get off once it turns on Middle Lane, it's only a few mins. Alternatively, just get a W3 down the hill then change on to a 144 which stops outside opposite 3 Compasses. There's also Hornsey Tavern on same road, which is okay but a bit shittier.
THE MAID OF MUSWELL - if you leave Ali Pali from the back, past the duck pond and follow the avenue leading down towards the north you will get to Maid Of Muswell, normally open till 12. Nice pub and you sometimes see Billy Mitchell from Eastenders in there. A bit out of way but buses 299 and 102 go past to Bounds Green underground station.
Muswell Hill itself is shit for pubs - The Hill is awful, so is O'Neills. Ha Ha Bar is full of idiots and The Well is just a dive.
Worst pub of all sadly is the one next to Ali Pali - The Phoenix Bar. Really shit, but nice view.
If you're spending the day/afternoon in London, I recommend Crouch End - loads of nice pubs/cafes and it's only 20 mins walk to Ali Pali.
