I have a hunch that the fate of all the Morrissey shows, the more vigorous pursuit of an album deal, and the ultimate release of an album are all hinging upon the sales of concert tickets offered thusfar. Further, I fear that Morrissey is likely to call the whole tour/album release off if ticket sales aren't good.

I also believe that there are many fans who fear this...even if only subconsciously. I for one am hedging against spending money on all the shows I *want* to see because I'm afraid of cancellations. I don't want 4/5ths of my money back because Ticketmaster is a incorrigible money-sucking leech.

Anyway....it'll be an ironic shame if Morrissey cancels any of this tour (or release of a new album) because he believes fans aren't sufficiently interested while at the same time fans are balking at buying concert tickets because they believe Morrissey isn't sufficiently interested in releasing a new album/touring/etc.

I've heard through a reliable source that a cancellation of the tour is highly probable. I'm sure that it'll be attributed to "illness" or some other inaccuracy (remember Radio City Music Hall?), but if it occurs, it's because tickets have not sold well in most markets.

It sucks to be a Morrissey fan today.

Ok , no offense , but it I am so tired of hearing the "Reliable Source" talk. Who said the tour would be probably cancelled pending ticket sales??
rumors are a shitty way to kill a good thing

As far as I know, the tour is/was in jeapordy because someone quit unexpectedly. This person was not a band member, but important in other ways. It has nothing to do with ticket sales. I heard about this two weeks ago, so I don't know if this person has been replaced by now.

My feeling is that if Morrissey was going to cancel, he would have done so already.
Why bother to book more shows if you think that you are going to cancel? Spokane, Santa Barbara, and Fresno were all announced in the last week.

i'm sorry, but if he does it because of low ticket sales, what does he expect from places like Yuma?

After going 5 years without a new album and heading straight to what is probably planned community hell where they still wouldn't care either way is very dangerous!

Hi, Suzanne...
You are not being pissed off at me, do you?
Well, at least Miss Tibby would definitely meet and greet Mozzer at Yuma!
I hope Moz would not cancel this partucular date, 'cause Tibby really needs his presence in her life. (her "depression" diaries on-line are cry for help... and speaking about old Iggy Pop & David Bowie song... a Cry for Love) I wish Tibby to overcome dificulties in her life... and be happy...
