I have a hunch that the fate of all the Morrissey shows, the more vigorous pursuit of an album deal, and the ultimate release of an album are all hinging upon the sales of concert tickets offered thusfar. Further, I fear that Morrissey is likely to call the whole tour/album release off if ticket sales aren't good.
I also believe that there are many fans who fear this...even if only subconsciously. I for one am hedging against spending money on all the shows I *want* to see because I'm afraid of cancellations. I don't want 4/5ths of my money back because Ticketmaster is a incorrigible money-sucking leech.
Anyway....it'll be an ironic shame if Morrissey cancels any of this tour (or release of a new album) because he believes fans aren't sufficiently interested while at the same time fans are balking at buying concert tickets because they believe Morrissey isn't sufficiently interested in releasing a new album/touring/etc.
