Poem for poets for Helen........
No slogans across your arms, legs, or chest
Reserved to Knitted plainness- You've never fitted in
But you don't deserve these songs or names (However plain)
Silly names marking a natural process in your life (and mine)
But...
You're British
Oh god....
You're English
With an arsenal of words......you like to use
No-one every gave you a chance for breath (To rest)
Forced to fevently join in- You never should have tried
But you dont deserve the hand you've been delt (Love never felt)
Silly cards in a fairground caravan (It only cost two pounds)
so
Don't expect it (me) to be true.
Its wierd what a women can make you write.
Please now- pull my work to pieces and say how bad it is, how it has no set ryhme, but think to your self even the great man has written the line "With a big nose, who knows"!.....You have to love that man.
