Why did Sanctuary Records decide to tender out the announcement of Morrissey's appearance at IOW to a Record Station, rather than announce it themselves?

I think all of the acts for the Isle of Wight festival were announced on Virgin Radio. They're giving away tickets for it as well. Just part of the marketing malarkey. Nothing more sinister.

The fact of the matter is though, Sanctuary/Morrisseymusic (pardon me for laughing) or whatever, did decide to promote the fact that a statement was to be made the following morning on Virgin, which was of high importance.

To me, you and thousands of others, we read this as being something significant.

Silly us, taking people on their word.

Anyway, they sold a concert under false pretence but never ever put their name to it.

What I'm trying to say is...

They put the onus on Virgin Radio rather than themselves, knowing full well they would bale out at the last minute, when the concert was a sell out.

The powers of Goldman, Goldstein and Golddigger have been well placed from the beginning of this operation.

And they wonder why everyone hates them.

How much have you lost out on? I wouldn't mind if it was just the festival tickets as they can be resold on e-bay, but with the cost of the air-fares and other travel arrangements, it's not worthwhile losing out on those as well.

Lynne, I put my soddin ticket on ebay tonight starting price 5 quid.

Only on for one day...cant be arsed.

My return flight cost £170 quid...I've lost that, but what the hell.

Anyway Lynne, you really cant sell the tickets on ebay, as you and I know no bugger wants them.

Unless of course, we can find a good pawnshop!
