Should be out in London today. Anyone got it?

Re: London ...

always get everything before we do ... rise up people of the North and claim back England's mountains green ...

btw, does it have an advert for this friday's tour dates?

Re: London ...

I like your stuff, all hail the northern wit.

I've wanted to set up a website for my poetry for a while now, but i need to get back to depersonalising my writing ... falling into a (mainly) unrequited love affair is alright for a while, but after two years you just become boring.
Anyways, you don't need to know my problems ... we're here to muse on Mozzer's problems instead :)

Good luck with the writing malarky, I'll keep checking out your site.

hehe no but yet im over the pond.. I should get it within the month or so .. haha

Arctic Monkeys?

No matter what your opinion is on them...do you think an album only released this week should rank amongst the so-called best British albums ever?
Surely it's about albums that have stood the test of time and therefore deserve such plaudits...TAM record is still only teething on the shelves...no matter how good you may or may not think it is.
I don't mind the South Yorkshire rascals at all...but i do find the usual NME overhype utterly tiresome, the albums selling like lubricant near a porn studio anyway...good luck to the scallywags, must certainly beat working for a living.

Time for a cuppa and a battered sausage.

Pitman.

Re: They haven't have they?

It appears they bloody well have ... the NME are a right bunch of fools. It's like when Q allowed OK Computer to be voted best album of all time in the year it was released.
You're right ... everything you said. I especially liked your porn / lubricant analogy ... I'm going to try and slip that one in to conversation in the near future.
There's no way it can be declared one of the best albums ever. Such polls need a criteria set to allow at least 5 (possibly even 10) years before a record can be eligible.
I don't want a bunch of 14 - 16 year olds telling me that a band from my city (younger than me, depressingly enough) are one of the greatest of all time. I know how impressionable i was at that age, and you shouldn't be allowed to influence such polls.
The Arctic's are bloody good, I'll give em that, but this time last year only a handful of people knew who they were. I doubt the band will agree with all this. And look what happened to NME darlings The Others, where the hell are they now?
I read an article (in Word i think it was) saying that if you believed all the 5 star reviews, hype and awards given out, then we must be living in one of the greatest ages in entertainment since entertainment began.
Bring back sensible journalism ... oh hang on, isn't that an oxymoron?

The Others have a new album out in February...

I went to see them a couple of weeks back and theyre still great. This tours promoting all their new songs from their forthcoming album..

yes i guess it is...the Arctic Monkeys do wear quite tight slacks too.

Having said what i did and sticking to it the NME is been clever by sticking the current fashionable band on the front (TAM) with other such pinacle bands from previous generations, as in Oasis, Moz etc. Knowing alot of Morrissey fans will buy a copy and thus also keeping the apprentice indie kids happy by using something modern too...very crass but it's all about sales after all.

Plus the Arctic Monkeys picture is scratch and sniff so you get an actual real whiff of Sheffield sex city when you do....the Americans will just love it.
