It seeems like ROTT is being greatly anticipated in the UK and is getting fantastic reviews and, lets face it, it's gong to be great.

Now Morrissey lost a lot of people in the US and it's hard to penetrate the US music media and airwaves and MTV. and sure we don't neccessarily pay attention to the UK top ten...but we do if the album is hyped greatly accross the Atlantic and especially if it makes top three...which i think ROTT will (matter of fact i think it will make number one to much fanfare). Every major music publication in the UK is raving about it and this will make people buy...people who never heard of Morrissey and people who haven't purchased a Morrissey album in over ten years will buy. It's getting way better press than YATQ.

So what does this mean to the US...the US will catch a sniff of what's going on in the UK and this may mean more people tuning in on Morrissey here in the States. thus the reason why Santuary isn't putting too much money (if any) into promotion here, they may figure it's too hard to penetate for the time being. and lets not forget the South By Southwest festival in texas which is a huge indie music festival, paid attention to by many. that's not till mid March and he's being showcased there. So YATQ was only a prequel to his comeback.

Hopefully...then agin it's about him...but at the same time i can still relate to it. What song lyrics don't have the words 'I' or 'me' in them? so i don't see this as a problem for people who do not know who morrissey is.

hope everything works out.

not to mention time has pretty much run out for a US tour in March

but what is he going to do for the next two weeks?

why would he round up the band and crew for 3 dates (one that obviously isn't going to make them any money and is simply promotional) and then disperse them for the next 2 weeks until the European dates start? if nothing else, they could do another week in NY or LA like on the last tour.

they've added dates at the "last minute" in the past. i think they wanted to see if they could sell the Oklahoma dates first before adding some more.

it seems to me that having both the SXSW interview and the show on the exact same day indicate a tight schedule.

i also thought they may announce at least an LA show or NY show and just hoping for people to buy the already announced US gigs first. they've done it before.

but then again...

he would assemble his crew and band just for the Texas South By Southwest show itself considering its importance for his promotion in the US.

how many american dates did he do before MEN in 2004?
i think there is still tiome for him to annouce more dates.

moz is old, he's never had a hit in america and that will not change. face it he will play to the same small crowds everytime he comes here. for a company looking like it's going down under it would be idiotic to throw more money into someone who will not get results.

yeah morrissey selling out maddison sqaure gardens quicker the the beatles and u2 etc

who's morrissey anyway?

;P

Actually, the campaign for YATQ was stronger in UK and US. It's alot weaker for this album, still effective no less in UK. You have a real decent point.

1) you're an ass
2) he's sold out arenas in the US in minutes and so obviously his music must have been something hit-like to get that many fans. even if it's an 'underground' hit.
3) IF the music is good then it will happen. obviusly the music scene in the US is sad to listen to, but then again you do have many people out there up for good music.
4) Throw in more money to Morrissey? he's their biggest artist! So obviously his results are better than their other musicians. so obviously for them, he has the most potential.
5) how is 47 old? how old is madonna? jackson? and the like...how old is bono?
6) why are you here? are you a troll?

still 6 weeks to go though...much time left for the campaign to get bigger.

1) name calling is a perfect way to prove me wrong.
2) he sold out arena's during the same time that cross color pants were
popular. things have changed since then.
3) it dosent matter if the music is good. if you dont have any promotion or any
sort of buzz it's useless. there's been no "buzz" in america.
4) Again more money in Europe might do good where he actually still has an
audience. when was the last time morrissey played to a stadium crowd here?
(excluding free shows like the kroq inland invasion in 2004)
5) 47 is old. face it there's no two ways around it.
6) yes iam a troll.
