Morrissey played two fantastic gigs in VEGA$...

I was able to get a few pix from the show and even some from the "After Party" afterwards...

Now I too have read Boz's tour diary and have seen the posts referring to myself as a "party crasher"... to set the record straight: I was invited. The House of Blues has a V.I.P. Foundation Room and I was on the list to get in. That is the ONLY way to get in- as an elevator at the main floor is the only access to that top floor and security won't allow you in unless you are validated. Yes there were other people in the room that were NOT on that list and that is who Boz is referring to. I had met him and the band before and they all recognized me and were all very cool to chat with and had no problem with me being there. I later to spoke to Morrissey's assistants and tour manager and they told me specifically who made Morrissey uncomfortable. I suppose I could "out" those persons and give the FREAKS on this message board something to flame about with their useless lives but I won't...

So, to all of you miserable people who think it's fashionable to bash fellow fans: enjoy the pix ;^)

Alain recognized me from a past show and was very pleasant to chat with...

Boz also remembered me from past meetings and had a few interesting tidbits to share: the band has 24 new demo tracks recorded and they are ready for the studio possibly as soon as December... and negotiations havee been ongoing with Rough Trade records

Morrissey's handler's were not allowing photos with him - but he did speak with me briefly and was very polite. I wish I could tell you that he confessed all of his heart's desires and his view on the meaning of life- but actually all that I had to say was "great show", blah blah blah and left him to mingle with the band and crew before he left...

I was also allowed to bring in a camera and I apologize for the crappy quality but this is my perspective of the Friday night show:

cheers,

Jay

Nice photos: some totally random moz fan!! (yeah I like to say your nick :p)
I see now that you made the clarification ..about the uninvited not mentioned.
cheers! and congrats ..lucky you ..

Thanks Jay, that was interesting. Did Morrissey say anyting interesting? What was he drinking?

Also, will you please tell us who crashed the party, or at least give us a clue? Why didn't security just throw them out, I can't believe that if Moz and the band didn't want someone there that they would leave rather than just haveing the people removed.

The Pleasure, The Priveledge Was Mine!!

> Thanks Jay,
- welcome

that was interesting.
- thanx

Did Morrissey say anyting interesting?
- he really just nodded his head politely when I said hello... I didn't really have anything to ask him and didn't want to keep him from the other guys

> What was he drinking?
- I have no idea

> Also, will you please tell us who crashed the party, or at least give us a

- I feel that to expose them doesn't help anyone. I do know that they are very embarrassed and the last thing they wanted was to cause Morrissey to be uncomfortable- but as Boz said: c'est le vie...

Why didn't security just throw them out, I can't believe that if Moz
> and the band didn't want someone there that they would leave rather than
> just haveing the people removed.
- those people left the instant they reallized they were not welcome. Unfortunately that was right after Moz left.

if these people weren't on the list, how did they get in the room in the first place?

I find this highly bizarre. the few bouncer/security types I know of like telling nobodies to f*** off.

No, I don't suppose it would, I just wondered what type of person that would actually be able to get in to the party would make Morrissey uncomfortable.

So Boz said they're talking to Rough Trade? I wonder if that's the Sanctuary deal that fell through, or if this is a new thing. Did he say if he thinks a deal with them is looking likely?

Are the people who work with him nice, the tour manager and assistants? I remember that story after the last tour that his tour manager ran off with the profits, I hope he has more trustworthy people this time around!

- excellent question... I have no answer...

- well, no. He said that the offers had been going back and forth. Let's cross our fingers!!

> Are the people who work with him nice, the tour manager and assistants?
- I think they do their best, considering the circumstances. I made a point to approach them first- I wish everyone else in the room had.

> remember that story after the last tour that his tour manager ran off with

- An interesting thing about the tour manager was that he had no idea that morrissey-solo.com even exists. I mentioned that I thought he did a great job rebounding from the Visa problems to get the tour dates re-scheduled and he was stunned that I knew about it at all... He asked me where I found that out and I told him it was all over the web site. LOL!! He and the assistants were very polite.

nice pics

Isn't it weird when you look at your pics and the security appear to be looking directly at you? I have some from a show in ventura in 99 where in every pic they appear to be looking at ME yet if they were i'm sure they would have taken my camera or something.

I like that shirt did you make it yourself? Also which night was this? If it was the 2nd night you should have asked why morrissey promised a brand new setlist on friday night for sat's show! I was so bummed i couldn't go to it only to find out it was the SAME!

My Early Photography Years

- yes, it is

- it WAS odd that they made no attempt to take it... oh, well- I'm not complaining ;^)

> I like that shirt did you make it yourself?
- Thanx... I looked all around Hollywood for an official one like it but was unsuccesful so yes I made it myself... I'm sure Alexandra Bastedo (the 60's actress featured) doesn't mind the publicity shot - and there is no mention of The Smiths on the shirt so I don't think I'm violating any copyright laws...

Also which night was this?
- Friday night

If
> it was the 2nd night you should have asked why morrissey promised a brand

- yes on Friday he did mention a "new repertoire" for the next night but it wasn't... and during the 2nd night's show he asked if we liked the "new repertoire" ... that silly man.

but some nobodies look good.

anyway... there are a few people he could be talking about, and not the rowdy ones, mind you. my friend was inebriated and rowdy, yet they took him places and got him things... so surely he must be talking about someone else.
